2012 Award Winner, Joey Connolly

The Eric Gregory Awards

The Eric Gregory Awards, for a collection by poets under the age of 30, were founded in 1960 by the late Dr Eric Gregory for the encouragement of young poets.

 

  • Awards are given annually, with prize money totalling up to £24,000
  • The annual deadline for entries is 31 October.
  • The application forms for the 2014 awards will be available to download soon

The 2012 Awards

Sophie Baker, Joey Connolly, Holly Corfield Carr, Caleb Klaces, Rachael Nicholas, Phoebe Power and Jon Stone each received £3,000.

Judges: Moniza Alvi, Polly Clark, John Greening, Sophie Hannah, Adam O’Riordan, Carol Rumens.

The winners of the Eric Gregory Awards will be appearing at the Ledbury Poetry Festival on Friday 6 July at 2:30pm – 3:30pm. Find out more.

Niall Campbell, Tom Chivers, Holly Hopkins, Martin Jackson and Kim Moore each received £4,200.
