The Friday Project goes into Liquidation

It has been reported in The Bookseller that The Friday Project (TFP) formally went into liquidation on 31st March after a meeting of creditors.

It seems likely that some of the assets of TFP will be sold to HarperCollins. However, most authors’ contracts with TFP will have terminated with the liquidation of the company. Authors may expect to hear from HC soon.

It will be up to authors approached by HC to decide whether to be published by the group (as the rights will have reverted and transfers of this kind require the author’s agreement). It may be possible for authors to negotiate improved terms.

If you have a contract with TFP and you would like further advice, please get in touch with the Society.
