How We Help

Improving Lives Worldwide

Since 1958, and the SS HOPE – the world’s first peacetime hospital ship – Project HOPE’s (Health Opportunities for People Everywhere) mission is to improve the quality of life of the world’s most vulnerable – predominantly women and children – through health education programs and related activities that improve the delivery of health care while building local capacity to sustain improvements after HOPE’s assistance ends.

Over time – and with the assistance of its network of global partners, including offices in the United Kingdom and Germany – Project HOPE’s programs have spanned more than 90 countries and focus on a variety of health-related fields decreasing vulnerability and emphasizing self-sufficiency.  Click below to read abstracts or use the navigation on the left for more information on ‘how we help.’

Working at the invitation of and closely with partners in host countries, Project HOPE designs
programs to fulfill needs in the health care continuum while complementing health care infrastructure
strengths already existing within the communities.
