Improving Lives Worldwide
Since 1958, and the SS HOPE – the world’s first peacetime hospital ship – Project HOPE’s (Health Opportunities for People Everywhere) mission is to improve the quality of life of the world’s most vulnerable – predominantly women and children – through health education programs and related activities that improve the delivery of health care while building local capacity to sustain improvements after HOPE’s assistance ends.
Over time – and with the assistance of its network of global partners, including offices in the United Kingdom and Germany – Project HOPE’s programs have spanned more than 90 countries and focus on a variety of health-related fields decreasing vulnerability and emphasizing self-sufficiency. Working at the invitation of and closely with partners in host countries, Project HOPE designs

strengths already existing within the communities.
